Update on my health......

To everyone on the board who has prayed and sent well wishes and notes of encouragement, I just want to say thank you. Because of conditions I couldn't control, I lost my left leg from knee down. This is in no way going to stop me from doing what I love and talk about Southern Miss. The doctors have at least given me a week before I can start writing again and you will see something from me starting next week.the one good thing about being in the hospital is you really get to sit back and think about stuff to write about. I will come back stronger from this and please continue to lift me up in your thoughts and prayers. The Southern Miss fanbase is special and I am glad to be a small piece of that.

Your Thoughts on P-5 Just Playing ,

A conference schedule and not out of conference games and using a clause in contract to get out of playing and paying due to natural disasters. I don't see where it will hold up in court. If the P-5 still play each other or their conference games then their excuse of getting out of playing all G-5 teams goes out the window because they are still playing games with each other and is that not endangering them in the same way. Of course it is. They just don't want to pay us and they especially don't want any of us to qualify for the big bowls. Plus this is another way of them having a chance of breaking our backs. Your Thoughts, Please. I think our lawyers will have a field day in court and sue the pants off of them and get even more money than what they owe us for the game.

Excited about the upcoming basketball season yet?

I learned from southernmiss09 that Pickney has signed. I really believe we will be in the big dance next year by winning CUSA championship. When one considers the guys that Jay signed it seems to me to be a lock. We will finally have a point guard and a little height. With the return of Stevenson, we will be all set. I also think we will play a lot better defensively and will be able to score. A lot of folks say we are another year away but I think we are here. Look out WC we are back .I just can't wait.

Longtime Eagle Passes

The Southern Miss family lost an avid supporter this past weekend with the passing of Mr. Roger C. Boyd. The 85-year pilgrimage of this United States Navy veteran and highly respected CPA ended on Saturday, May 9. Walking into his South Church Street office in Brookhaven was like visiting a small scale museum with lots of USM and St. Louis Cardinals memorabilia on display. In lieu of flowers, his obituary requested that memorials be made to the Eagle Club. He will be missed.
