I did get some info that Nick Williams from NWCC would be joining the staff. He is supposedly connected to Crowley so that would make sense.

This is not official but a strong rumor.

1. The Eagles are 3-0 against SEC competition this season in midweek games.
2. Gone are they days when beating SEC schools was shocking and suprising. This program is at a point where a win like this is expected.
3. This game was about the offense picking up the pitching staff and carrying them for once. If not for walks, this would have been an easy win for USM. Ole Miss struck out 14 times but walked 6 times. Can't give a team like the Rebel Black Bear Landsharks extra runners or they will make you pay.
4. Scott Berry's team did not quit and those are the teams that have postseason success.
5. Poch Montenegro is the MVP of this season for USM. Since he stepped in after Johnson was injured, he has had only 1 game off and handled this staff extremely well. His bat has started to come around as well.
6. I like Paetow in the leadoff spot. When Gabe comes back, leave him at the 8 spot and allow him to see better pitches and get his bat going. I believe it will. I would like to see Paetow cut down on K, but he makes a pitcher work and that is what a leadoff hitter is supposed to do.
7. Big series at Charlotte this weekend. Eagles will have to play their best to win this series. At #17 in the RPI they are in the talks to host at this point in the season, but if they don't finish, it won't matter.
