Actually, the kids have not even reported yet, but there are many things we can discuss. Example: Which QB had the edge coming out of the Spring? How much do you think Coach Gregg's ability to teach the OL players will lead to success? Will the two OL transfers from State earn starting roles? Who will start at RB, Dean or Gore? Comments in the Spring stated the OL had improved in pass protection. What about rush blocking? Some say that early in the season, the defense dominates. Could the improved D be the key to beating Liberty? What say you?

John has two more years of HS. Right now, it seems he is 100% USM and has no doubt he will be a golden eagle. But how much will change in the two years? Been really working hard to walk again. Well, I am walking a bit again. I had some hip issues due to prosthesis, but we are working hard to correct those. It is a process and a long one at that. I can tell you this, the hardest thing to be taken from you is freedom and the ability to move at will. Still though, I am taking steps again and that feels great!!!

So far today he has hit 2 home runs with 3 RBIs to lead Wichita Falls to a 5-3 lead. this gives him 20 home runs on the season and 56 rbis.

I believe Heath said the guys would start reporting on August 4th, so it is getting close to "Lace'em up time." I look forward to a productive Fall camp with no severe injuries and players reporting in good condition. I feel strongly our QBs have really developed since the Spring and are ready to lead the team to a very good year. With the addition of some firepower in the backfield, we will be able to use the power back tool more efficiently. Moving the ball will be a lot better and with a stalwart defense, we will be in good shape for a special season.
