Southern Miss continued their third week of practice today at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility. BGN was on hand and files this report.
- Because of a depleted DL, Michael Smith sitting out because of academics and Chris Robinson is "dinged up", J Michael Edwards saw extended time inside today. Honestly, he looked really good.
- Man it got chippy out there today with several rounds of fistie-cuffs. Really good to see that fire out there. One really good rowr was between Jomez Applewhite and Kyle Foster.
- One of the best one-on-one match-ups so far this spring has been Cornell Armstrong vs. Michael Thomas. Those two go back and forth with Thomas pulling in an amazing catch one snap and Armstrong dropping him for a loss the next. It's really fun to watch those guys go at it.
- Daythan Davis didn't take part in practice today so Jay'Shawn Washington saw extended time at H-back and showed some really nice flashes.
- Julian Allen is beginning to take part in more and more and is starting to have a shot to show off his hands and some of his athletic ability.
- The defense has been really working to strip the ball and create turn-overs. Today they caused three fumbles by ball carries, Monken was not happy with his back.
