Up until now, I have never owned one or flown one or ever had one on any article of clothing, or any of my cars, trucks or windshields. I guess I always thought it was a State Flag and would always be here. I knew it didn't sit well with some and just didn't fly it. I have had my USM flag handing from the eve of my garage and have had it taken down and throw in my front yard. Can only guess what schools rep from which it was done. I don't want trouble, but today I order a Mississippi State Flag and you can buy them at rock bottom prices. I guess if I had waited a week they would have been free. No, I won't fly it. I don't want my house egged or burned or to be a subject of drive by shootings, like are going on in Chicago. I will keep it in the box and in my house to know what we once had and how much things have changed, This I do know, changing the flag is not going to make Mississippi better. Athletes knew before they signed with the schools what our State Flag was, what the name Ole Miss and Rebels were and what they stood for. We at Southern miss changed the name of our team from the Southerners to The Golden Eagles. We dropped General Nat as our mascot. We did all of this decades ago and Ole Miss continued with theirs and face it, you can change your colors and your name but you are what you are. People are never satisfied when you do make the change they want, because once you do, they realize that then they have the power to make you do other changes later on. Some people are never happy no matter what they get at the time they still want more until they get it all. And by that time you have nothing else to give and you are have been beaten down a little a time and you didn't even realize it and now it is too late. BLM and Democrat's at their best and we are letting them take the farm because we are feeling quilty for something that happened almost 200 years ago. Shame on Us.

That is very true. The young people have not been taught about history, they have been brainwashed in school starting from high school all the way through collage. The percentage of collage professors that are left leaning is about 5 to 1 this can not continue. We the people must take a stand and demand a change. We need to elect conservative people. There is so much more but it would take a book to name it all.

kiffin and leach want the flag changed
Thats a freaking surprise
Weren’t our coaches there as well? No coach at a major college is going to push back on changing the flag. Our university hasn’t flown the flag in years....

Here is the big issue. No matter what your opinion is on the subject, it does matter how people on the outside look at this issue. With at least 65% of the football team being from outside of the state and 75% of the team African American, this will hurt recruiting. Coaches will have a hard time recruiting outside of the state if the flag is not changed and Southern Miss can't fill a team of only Mississippi kids. It is what it is.

I guess you would like all the progressive thinking Southern Miss fans to move to Colorado. Although I don't why you picked Colorado.

Had family here and met my wife. Got a job. Stayed. My wife didn't want to move back and drive a truck with me, so I became an accountant instead. And I would love to have more Southern Miss fans out here and don't care what their political views are.

sorry. should say socialist instead of social
My education at Southern Miss and my education in the church taught me to be open to new ideas and try to be tolerant of everyone's ideas. If that me a liberal leftist then that's okay with me.
The word "liberal" derives from the Latin "liber" (meaning "free" or "not a slave"). In everyday use, it means generous and open-minded, as well as free from restraint and from prejudice

Yep. Generous with other people's money, open-minded to murdering unborn babies. Congratulation on your new-found conscience.

I’m an humble man before the Lord. But that’s me when we’re talking right and wrong, conservative vs liberal, nonsense vs solid values proven over time, rational logical thought vs stupidity. Yeah, this Good Samaritan would go along with those. Guilty as charged.

Just so I understand correctly, if someone is a “liberal,” they can not have solid core values?

Most certainly a liberal can have core values. It's the core values of a liberal which are at issue. Being a. liberal only means a person is open to opinion or change from traditional values. Our traditional values are generally found in those that follow the Scripture. Many of our laws are based on Scriptural understandings. But when folks move away from those traditional values and believe that abortion is a right and not murder it is a move away from that traditional value of Thous Shalt Not Murder. When a marriage is no longer viewed as a union between a man and women then it goes agains what are our traditional values. Slavery was a move against traditional core values of Scripture. As is hate a move against traditional core values. There are conservatives and liberals which move in directions against traditional values at points in time. But for general purpose today liberals have moved further from the traditional values than have conservatives. The Bible from a historical purpose shows that when civilizations move away from God's values that consequences of evil occurred. We are seeing those consequences today due to a liberal segment which has moved further and further away from traditional values.

That is a good way to look at life, however, to far-left liberals it is our way or the highway. Shut up and obey or we will set fire to your business or smash in your car. Make you take down your state flag and remove pictures from labels. Above all, we will label you a RACIST and if you vote for a Republican you are as good as dead.

I’m so tired of the political posturing. Let’s talk Southern Miss athletics.
Great idea. I sure would like some information, thoughts, predictions, etc about FB and Basketball. I know Heath is not able to do that right now but we can discuss what we do know.

Personally I am against abortion but if I make a law to force a women to have a baby then I have assumed some responsibility for that child. If the mother is poor and can't take care of her child, what happens? She must receive welfare to provide. Then people with a job start to scream about people on welfare. They say get a job ,but what job? If she works for McDonalds, she makes minimum wage with no medical insurance. If she gets welfare she can feed her children and has government health care. That is a no- brainer.
Where does money for welfare come from? The U.S. Government. She spends her money locally which stimulates the local economy. You don't pay for her welfare because our state receives much more money from the government than we send to the government. This circle goes on and on. Without government money many people would be without jobs. The welfare money spent in our state is a large part of our economy.

Cool, let’s all quit our jobs and live off welfare.

Then you’d be ok with killing off some retirees since we are a drain on the system as well. Once you justify killling as a cost saving measure where does one draw the line? What about personal responsibilities? Not all folks getting abortions are poor. Doing what’s right and just used to be our standard. Now we just self justify what we want.

On the other hand. If people didn't have children unless they were involved in a two parent relationship with the intent of providing for and raising the child as their main priority, none of that would be necessary.

Also, as far as Mississippi receiving more money from the fed than we send. If you took the one congressional district in Mississippi that has a democratic congressman out of the equation. Mississippi would no longer be what my liberal friends refer to as a "taker state".

I also don't think you realize that the policies you seem to support are what cause the problem in the first place, and the biggest losers are the children conceived by people that either don't want them or aren't prepared to provide for them.

.

If you took out the 2nd congressional district, Mississippi would go from #49 in median income to ...... #49. West Virginia is #50.

Mississippi's median income is around $44,500. Take out the 2nd district and it goes to about $46,700. Arkansas is #48 in median income with $47,602.

That may be correct but it doesn't refute the fact that the majority of people in Mississippi needing government assistance, support politicians whose policies created the environment (not being raised by a two parent family) that caused them to need it.
