We'll probably end up in Dallas, but I don't think I want that. It's December 26th at 11 am. In other words, our fans would have to travel on the 25th just to make the game. Put that together and it equals very few USM fans making the trip.

Ark State would be a tough game, but at least we could bring a lot of fans to Nola to celebrate the season. Plus, since bowl money is pulled together, there is no incentive to going to Dallas and playing a 5-7/6-6 team.

Eagleboy, you just hit a home run. Exact reason NO Bowl is a better fit than Dallas. As much as I'd love to go Dallas, I also want to spend Christmas day with my grandson....in NOLA. Easy choice for me to take off later Christmas day for Dallas, but not sure the Mrs. is on board...

Independence Bowl would take precedent over that though. Fans could easily drive on the 26th to get to the game at night.
