not even close. And the 2012 team had some studs on it, Jaime Collins and company, so, in this regard I think we all have to be pleased. Today was one we let get away. I cannot offer to much to our conversation, and so much
has already been posted, but are some meager observations:
Special teams is killing us, wasting a time out, a foolish fake punt dropped pass, plus the same guy had a moronic penalty earlier, missed field goals....come' on guys.
Nick is a baller. He had 3 or 4 passes that were way off, too low or two high to open receivers, but really He deserves kudos for a gutsy performance.
We really can't blow too many of our opponents off the ball so why, on 4th and 1, do we try it? Monken is stubborn so he'll keep doing it, and maybe against CUSA defensive lines it'll work, but not v. Nebraska or Mississippi State.
Our defense was playing terribly shorthanded so it's difficult for me to judge them yet, but it's been a hit and miss for them all year. Injuries look like they are piling up for the Eagle D.
Did we write TE out of the game plan, or are they all hurt?
Everyone else has commented on clock management and the wasting of time-outs etc.
Penalties, no need to say more, sigh.
In any event, I think 7 wins is not out of the question, and I'll be there for North Texas. Go Eagles!!!

I forgot all about the tight-end situation until you mentioned it in this post. I don't recall any passes to a tight end. And what has happened to Ricky Parks? He was a presence on the field and had an impressive game against State. I don't remember seeing much of him last week against Texas State, and I don't remember seeing him on the field today. Injured?

After the way this team has played against State and Nebraska, I'm hoping for a lot more than 7 wins this season. If we lose to 3 of our conference opponents, I'll be upset.
