One of these days, I would to read a former baseball's players experience say pre- Corky Palmer. I knew a player on the 1991 squad. From what little I know, baseball was a free sport once played at Smokey Harrington Park along with Hattiesburg High School. I also read that USM had a player in the prealuminum bat days that led the nation in homeruns in 1974?? Wilson Plunckett? Maybe he played in the big leagues? Let no one kid you...anyone who ever made it to MLB is a freak of nature and USM has had more than a few big league ball players. I say all that to say that the Eagles should be a super regional team.
I hope and wish they complete their miracle task.
