Friend: Congrats USM on your first and very-hopefully your last regional to host. That is all. #hailstate#gooojags
Me: Don't be a hater
Friend: Hater of what
Me: Hopefully our last?
Friend: Yessir, mainly due to the pathetic ticket policy. Basically, they reached out to anyone who's ever taken a single class there and offered them tickets before anyone else could buy. "2018 Season Ticket Holders"? Are you kidding me? I'd've loved to have gone, but do you think I'm gonna drive 2-hours in hopes of getting a ticket, IF they release any single game spots? It's absolutely ridiculous the way they did it.
Me: So you think season ticket holders, donors, and students shouldnt get preference? USM has one of the top 20 attended baseball programs in the country. LSU is prioritizing their season ticket holders arent putting all session booklets on sale til Thursday. This is nothing unusual.
Friend: They went a lot further than the ones you just mentioned. Certainly they should get preference, but "2018 Season Ticket Holders"? There were s few others that were silly as well.
Friend: So, MSU & USA fans, both only a short drive away, should miss seeing their teams play Friday night, so USM folks can go see them? That's ridiculous
Me: We had to send 200 each to visiting teams. They reserved some for students and season ticket holders bought up the rest.
Friend: "200" in a "5100" seat stadium? How kind!
Me: Home field advantage
Friend: How is it "home field advantage" by keeping fans of other schools away from the games that their teams are playing in?
Me: USM fans will be rooting for USA over MSU
Pointed to LSU policy
From LSU webpage. Notice the last paragraph. ANY AVAILABLE. The other teams fans can't buy tickets until TOMORROW. But hey, USM is the worst program in the world because your butt is hurt. Wake up, part of the reward for team's fans is preference on tickets. If I want to go watch USM play Auburn or Alabama in football, you think I can just roll up to the AL or AU ticket office and say sell me a ticket without paying a seat license and donating money to the athletic program? NO, they have waiting lists. So, I can only buy what is left or from the allocation USM receives.
