Yes, it may be a while before we step foot in a Southern Miss athletic facility again. That doesn't stop us from imagining what could be. The new bond that was voted on will help Reed Green Coliseum, but to make it a premier facility in CUSA, there has to be major work done beyond what money the bond will give Southern Miss. To be clear, this money will only be going to refurbish RGC. There are some projects that are being considered now. These improvements are also recruiting tools. As an assistant basketball coach told me recently, "recruits want to go to schools that have all the bells and whistles. Recent success will only get you so far. Your facilities have to be on par with the other schools in the conference."
