The coach said something while true is concerning when you relate it to recruiting. He was ask about the quality of LBs on the team. He said and I am not quoting that he thought we had good Players but he did not have and would not have a good point of reference until he had seen them play in the league a year or two. If you can't really measure your players until you understand the level of competition the same would apply to recruits. A lot of the current staff have not coached at FBS level and it looks like some of our committed recruits for next year have no other offers mostly FCS offers or just Sunbelt Offers. I am sure these are great kids and a couple could be hidden diamonds but I don't think you can find 25 kids that are unrated or 2 stars and be upper tier group of 5.

So, They have not changed the channel - after the same kids they were formerly after or would be after in a lower league? If so, troubling.

I think even though some of the kids are heavy on FCS offers they are going after kids they could not get before at FCS or Division II but guys like our DC have never recruited at the FBS level and based on his comment he and some of the other coaches do not have a point of reference. Granted I am taking his comment a step further than he meant and the comment would not apply to all the coaches. Shannon and our carry overs coaches know the skill levels we need. Also there should be some hard measurable like size and speed. It just bothered me that he did not feel he could accurately access the talent he had and I extended the comment to recruiting. Even though he has been away for a while he did coach at the FBS level. I was hoping his experience would help Tony who has only really coached at Division II and the SWAC. They do have some kids that do have really good offer sheets. Others not so much.
