Ok lets speculate for a moment that the Big 12 raids the AAC and takes two of their big market teams.
For the sake of this conversation lets say that they take Memphis and Cincinnati.
I think that there some logic that a newly formed league of the teams from the AAC and C-USA that are the most geographically clumped together to form a league.
There is only a matter of time before the ACC comes for UConn.
Would this be a better arrangement be a new league that looks something like this?
East Division
East Carolina
Charlotte
UCF
USF
FAU
MTSU
WKU
West Division
Houston
SMU
La Tech
Southern Miss
ULL
Tulane
Rice
Take into account travel costs, ability to build real rivalries and gain some real traction.
