Southern Miss went 14 - 8 in 2020 with the new coach. Southern Miss just finished the last game of the 2021 season and will be 22 - 31 overall, 4 - 16 in the conference, and 2 - 18 in the last 20 games. By local Hattiesburg media accounts, 9 players have quit during the season. Should the coach be allowed to return? Usually, if there are a lot of transition issues it happens in the first year a new coach is put into place. Maybe there were issues most of us did not know about in 2020 that were overshadowed by COVID? Should the AD read the new softball coach the riot act and let him know another season like this one and he will be fired?
