Since the board is so lively, I thought it might be fun to look back on the year and make some new year predictions.
Football- Everything was Rosey after Spring practice. Many predicted an eight-game win season, but a rain cloud appeared over the team and never disappeared. ESPN could do a special on the QB disastrous situation during the year. What about next year? I think this coming year, it appears WH had made some nice additions. His defense will be as good or better than last year. The offense may be a different story. The final additions to the roster will tell the tale. The critical position will be at QB. As of now, we are relatively sure Lowe will not be at the QB position, so what is the scenario? Are we going to depend on a great potential player (with limited experience) in Keyes or an incoming Freshman to handle the chore? I do not see adequate backups on the roster. The QB position is the most important in football, and I hope WH will find an experienced player in the portal. The OL is another area that proved to be the downfall last year. How will that shape up for next year? Fortunately, we have six or seven spots left to fill. I would hope at least four will be selected as OL. I don't look for any improvement in that area with the present roster.
Basketball-Last year was not what we expected. It was similar to football when expectations were high, and it did not turn out very well. The same can be said for the current year. The need was clearly in obtaining guys that could score points from 15 feet and out, but the selection of players that would remedy the situation did not happen. So what is the scenario? Things are reasonably bleak and will only improve when the coach and staff can solve the scoring problem.
Baseball_ With losing the two top pitchers in which the game is most dependent, no one really knows.
