If a P5 team like Stanford, with all of the millions coming in from TV and bowls, 40 plus million a year is dropping that many sports to save money and because of lack of money coming in and with an Endowment of 27.7 Billion dollars , ( a tad bit more than USM) Ha, then we are really in trouble as are a lot of G5 and P5 schools, like both schools up north. Both the schools up north have made big investments, such as new basketball arena , remodeling baseball stadium and still owe for enlarging the football stadium at both. They depend on the 40 plus million each year to pay on all of these things and more. Boise just cut two programs and they are in much better shape than us. It is time and it is now for us and others to redo our conferences to cut expenses. The model that came out the other day, in SI , by Pat Forde, was and excellent example of reorganization of all due to closeness and to help save on expenses. I know that it won't happen, but with the economy like it is and the virus, it just might be the thing to help keep us all afloat.
