Here are his thoughts on different positions coming out of Spring Practice:

Offense:

QB: He feels this group is the best since he had been here on campus. He was really happy with the transfers of Edwards and Wiles and thought they played extremely well. Wilcke had to play before he was ready and really improved this Spring. I did ask if Wilcke would redshirt if the 2 transfers worked out. He just said that if Wilcke doesnt win the starting job they would look at it week by week. They wouldn't waste a season on a player if they didn't have to. The talent at QB has been upgraded.

Running Game:

The OL was really most improved area of the team. There are 4 guys back who started a bunch of games amd Barnes back who started a few games. He feels that with others being in the program for a few years now, that depth at each position is showing. Cavazzos is a guy he mentioned who has transfered in and looked good. They feel like they finally have the talent to do what they want on the OL where they were lacking that in the past.

They feel like they finally have the right mix of talent at RB behind Gore Jr with Clark and Clay. Add what Pittman did with the superback this Spring (he is finally healthy), the mix of skills there will cause defenses problems. Rambo is another guy who as flashed this Spring. To go from only 1 scholarship RB when Hall arrived, to be where they are now is phenomenal.

Wide Receiver:

Caston, Mims, and Frog had a great Spring. Hayes is back and that adds depth. Dalton and Franks took huge steps forward this Spring, but they have to continue to work at getting better, but both have a big upside. Henderson has great hands. Mixon and Butler are Freshmen that have ability to make big plays, but are still very young and inexperienced.

Defense:

Biggest improvement that Hall saw this Spring was at Corner. Caraway has really elevated himself this Spring. McNeal, Toles, and Daniels are all tall guys who can run and got better.

The depth at LB will be a big plus for this team. They really only played 3 guys there last season. With the returners and the addition of Gage, Sims will be huge. Clemons took a big step in understanding of the system and he and Carr will make up for the loss of Quewon.

Transfer Portal is about to open up again. If they go after a transfer, he will have to fit in their system. They will not just go out and get someone for numbers sake anymore.

Hope this helps answer some questions for you all and sorry it took a day or so to get this out.
