Small schools like USM can still compete in collegiate basketball, it just takes 2-3 really good players to create a good team. We've done it before, but our facilities have not progressed. I wish we could get some serious donors to step up and either completely gut and redo Reed Green, or build a new multi-purpose arena in conjunction with the city of Hattiesburg. USM will never compete at the highest level in football, but we could do it in basketball.

I never understood why the City of Hattiesburg, Forrest County, and Southern Miss did not go in together when Forrest County built their multi-purpose center.
