Supporting Information for Hitter of the Week Nominee: Gabe Montenegro hit safely in all five games last week – all against ranked teams - including three, three-hit games. His two-run, two-out double in the seventh at Alabama lifted the Golden Eagles to their first win in Tuscaloosa since 2014. Montenegro added three hits, including his second homer of the year, and 3 RBI in a 14-6 win over nationally ranked Louisiana Tech. He leads the team with 20 runs scored this season. He was 7-for-11 against the Bulldogs and saw his average rise to .293 this season.

* The Golden Eagles went 2-3 last week as they played five games against nationally ranked teams.
* Southern Miss, which had come into the weekend with a 5-0 record in one-run games this season, dropped a pair of those games against the Bulldogs.
* The team hit four runs in the 14-6 victory in the first game of the doubleheader Saturday, marking the first time that they collected four homers in a game since April 20, 2019, against Charlotte. It also marked a season-high for runs for the Golden Eagles.
* Walker Powell threw the first complete game for the squad this season, a seven-inning performance, in the team’s lone win in the series.
