I had to look it up ... it's Tony Pecoraro Linebackers, and Tim Billings Outside Linebackers. Now I really don't know how good these guys are and I am not a coach. I'm just an old retired Prof. But based on recent history if I were making the offensive game plan for ODU it would be "Hi diddle diddle, right up the middle". Duh!
Andi if I were making a game plan for their defense it would be "stack the box and make them pass, er, drop the ball." Double Duh!!
Many years ago I worked at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Some of you may remember Clem Dellinger, who as I recall was receivers and tight ends coach there and had been a great tight end or receiver at Tulane in his college days. Anyway, during one game his receivers (and the running backs) dropped the ball with amazing precision. That week I sent him a bottle of contact cement marked "For your Backs and for your Ends".
Clem was not amused. But guess what? It got better, and I think the next year MGCJC won the national JC football Championship!
Maybe I need to send three bottles. One to Desmond Lindsey, Tight Ends Coach, for help with catching the ball and one each to Pecoraro and Billings for their linebackers to help with tackling. I'm exempting Pollard because I can't figure out why he's running backs coach.
What the heck? Looks like it worked once.
Disclaimer: After a couple of scotches it seems like a great idea!
