Southern Miss hosted their annual Pro Day this morning on campus. In all about 25 pro scouts were there the majority from the NFL with a few CFL sprinkled in for good measure.
A larger number of Southern Miss seniors worked out but there were a few everyone was watching - Mike Thomas, Kalan Reed, Michael Smith, Rashod Hill, Casey Martin, Norman Price and Andrew Bolton drew the most notice.
Former Golden Eagles Dasman McCullum and DeAndre Brown also worked out.
There were a number of highlights:
- On the bench press, Big Norman Price hit 32 reps of 225-pounds;
- Casey Martin may have been even more impressive considering his weight. Martin ripped off 23 reps of 225-pounds. I was not able to get that on video.
- Kalan Reed had a respectable number on the bench I think 16 but then he has a 41.5 inch vertical leap. Martin also had a nice vertical at 36.5.
