I've followed Hawaii(and all things Hawaii...grew up Magnum P.I. fan) athletics since the June Jones days. They hired a ELLLLLLLLLLLLOS type football coach in 2012 that drove their program into the ground, yet they wouldn't fire him until this season after only winning a handful of games. They can only afford to pay their new coach around a half million. The former athletic director had the gall to say that football could be cut, but he is no longer there. I know USM has its money problems, but their financial story has many similarities to our own. It is funny because you can look at when USM has having its greatest season (1981), so was Hawaii. It really goes to show that having poor leadership can lead to long term problems.
