David Hartman 16 WAPT retweeted the Dempsey kick. It is one of those things that it is hard to believe unless you were there, like the 61 yard fg by Ray Guy in the snow(or hitting the gondola in the Superdome, etc). I teach Physics so I understand that kicking below sea level in the humidity didn't help matters, either. The impulse that Dempsey put on the ball must have been unreal. Anyway I just showed my son the film for history's sake. A number of people must have lost their hearing in Tulane Stadium with the roar that occurred!
OT: Did Tom Dempsey really kick the 63 yard FG in a stadium that was below sea level...
