Even more embarrassing is that it was their Homecoming Game. The North Texas head coach was fired after the game.

On another note, 1-5 UTSA is far more competitive than their record indicates. If we aren't ready for them, they could hang an embarrassing loss on us for our Homecoming. They lost by 2 points and 3 points to Colorado State and Louisiana Tech. Their other three losses were to power conference programs. They were blown out by Top 25 Oklahoma State, but had a respectable loss to Top 25 Arizona 42-32.

Just read where Rick Villareal fired McCarney. UNT will get their program going again. Denton in is a great recruiting area, and UNT invested a lot into a stadium/weight room. I'd say hire Portland State's coach on the spot.

North Texas fired their last two coaches mid season. May be time for them to clean house in the athletics department.
