EMCC receiver Isiah Jones(6'3", 200), spent his freshman year at Florida State, has committed to USM.

Coach Monken likes his receivers big, doesn't he? And he likes a lot of them. I read where he would like to have 9 in the rotation.

Still rated a high 3 star by Rivals. Highest rated player by in our class.

Our recruiting bogles my mind. We should be contacting every 3* and higher rated player in this state. Yet only 4 or so, and none of the 4 stars that I have seen, say anything about being contacted by us. A bunch of high school coaches within an hour of Hattiesburg say our staff never contacts them about players, and some of these teams have the 4 star guys on them at least one every couple years.

I just can't believe that Monken is taking the Bower way of recruiting...are these guys qualifying? Have the players themselves shown interest or simply interested in drinking SEC koolaid?

Seems to be more of the Bower way of recruiting. I have friends coaching at several high schools and they said after Fedora's first year his staff was a regular at their games even when they didn't really have any kids with the talent to go D1. They would get calls from USM coaches. After Fedora left, nada. One was impressed with Fedora's staff and would send video to USM when he did have a player that no colleges had gotten on just yet.
