it is easy to get into a negitive Fitch when things go down hill. I fell into that when Hop was hired and put me into the "I told you so" roll but on the brite side.
1 I really like our freshman QB. He is a good one and Hop reeled him in. Good job coach.
2 if you really watched USM last year you knew we did not have an FBS MLB beyond our SR starter. I think CJ is a young man of the highest charter and a good leader but he struggles physically to play at this level. I think the staff now understands the need and will fix it wit JC or a fifth year guy.
3. I think the SWAC coaches now know there is a really big jump from lower end FCS to lower end FBS.
4. He has not said it but I think Hop knows he can't fill recruiting classes with "USM type players". You cannot be average HT. And below average WT across the front. You need at least 2 of three measurable We have to get bigger.
5. Hop is a really good guy. Shannon is a good OC. TP you have been taken to school/wood shed and you are not ready for prime time. Hop is a defensive guy hopefully he take over the lead role. Hop was never an elite FBS DC but he is good enough for CUSA.
6. We thought next year would be a down year but if Hop uses the 6 spots he has left to fill holes we could win 7 games next year. Hopefully some of the FCS level recruits they have committed now will go somewhere else or will not qualify and we can get some bigger guys.
