You had to know a loss to UAB was coming. They win the series with another win and a sweep is not impossible.This USM team is really very average but luckily in a week league. Very disappointing. As I write MTSU is tied 4-4 with FAU in extras. We really need a FAU loss tonight to have any chance at a 1 seed.

There is no way to sugarcoat the loss last night. It was a costly bad loss to a bad team. 4 Southern Miss errors lead to 2 of the 3 UAB runs. I lost count of the baserunning mistakes that cost Southern Miss runs. The pitching was good but it was a wasted effort.
