Welcome to The Athletic's live experience covering all things Week 4 in the NFL. While the Dallas Cowboys kicked off the week by defeating the New York Giants once again, the early window during Sunday's action promises to be tantalizing. The Pittsburgh Steelers attempt to start 4-0 with the Indianapolis Colts on deck. The Minnesota Vikings attempt to do the same in an NFC North clash against the Green Bay Packers. Two teams — the Jacksonville Jaguars (at Houston) and Cincinnati Bengals (at Carolina) — hope to avoid the dreaded 0-4 start. Also in the early window, the Philadelphia Eagles meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Stay tuned here for coverage, news, updates, stats, highlights and more from our NFL writers across stadiums today.

The first week of the NFL season is a roller-coaster. After the second, there is still too little data to know which teams are contenders, and those who are not. By the third, trends begin to form.

That’s enough time for separation in the standings to reveal the surprises who might stick around, and the preseason favorites who might be in trouble.

Week Four of 2024 arrives this weekend with five undefeated teams remaining — Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Kansas City in the AFC, and Minnesota and Seattle of the NFC. Meanwhile, Tennessee, Jacksonville and Cincinnati are all still searching for their first win.
