I'm just not impressed with play calling. It's like we call plays based on some ideal situation in someone's head as opposed to being in touch with what's happening on the field. >>>A perfect example are our two series that resulted in FGs. This OC does not know how to utilized the teams talents to get us into the end zone.

556 yds is hard to argue bad play calling. Red-zone has been a problem all year but 32 points was good enough for the win. We moved the ball both running and passing tonight. Our D has really come into its on, my take is the staff had a feeling that we could win with FG's and Mullens was off....again tonight with the three picks.

Bottom line, what we have now is 10 fold better than the last three years combined.

Turnovers a bigger concern than play calling to me. Mullins forced some balls into double coverage when he had all day to find an open receiver.

Your right, this should have been a bigger blowout. Mullens seems to be trusting his arm a little too much, not checking down and staring down receivers. His arm is average, his football IQ is high....he just needs to get back to using it more. Seems there are times when he looks for the big play when only a few yds is needed. I am certainly not complaining, his stats speak volumes but if this becomes a habit it could bite him in the butt against Rice and La Tech.

Yes to all these observations. Mullens is so streaky, he has genuine talent and yet.....
Our defense is becoming so Nasty Bunch 2.0, that they are a joy to watch. We had to dig our way out of such a deep hole that 8-4, if possible, should get Monk a vote or two for national coach of the year. It's a really fun year so far, and we are better than the Marshall team that owns us. We are better than we have played, and we have played fairly well so far.

YES, I AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU. I LOVE THE PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE. I DO FEEL THAT SOME THINGS COULD BE BETTER, AND I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL THAT PLAY CALLING IS ONE. HOWEVER, I AM VERY THANKFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE.
