I would like a serious discussion about the etiquette of standing at a football game

What is your opinion about the rights of someone to stand the entire game in front of people who want to actually see and enjoy the game? This was the unpleasant situation we found ourselves in Saturday. My wife and I are bumping 70 years old. We just don't have the stamina we used to. Everything hurts nowadays. We have been Eagle Club members for over 35 years and have had the same season tickets and seats that entire time. We stand at all the appropriate times: National Anthem, Alma Mater, team coming out of the tunnel, kickoffs, third down plays, goal line stands, long passes (like standing is going to make the pass complete), and other appropriate times. Saturday, we had our two small grandchildren with us. They are growing up Gold and are members of Seymour's Sidekicks. My wife just found out last week that she has 7 kidney stones, and was in pain, but she toughed it out so we could support our team.

Having said all that, Saturday we had three guys that were in front of us who chose to stand the WHOLE GAME. No one in front of them were standing so that they HAD to stand. We could not see the game. Our grandchildren could not see the game. All we could see were three butts. They looked like three meerkats standing on a savannah somewhere. They were asked nicely if they would be seated so those behind them could actually see the game. They responded with what could be summed up "we paid for these seats so we can do what we want". Late in the game, our grandchildren crashed on us so we had to hold them asleep in our laps and try to watch the game on the video board. I realize that at some colleges the students stand the entire game, but that is in the student section.

Question: where do the rights of someone who wants to stand in front of others end, and the rights of someone who wants to see the game and stand occasionally begin?
