I think this quote by Fedora is right on about his best ball is still ahead of him:

"He's a freak of an athlete," Fedora said. "There aren't many of them out there that can do the things he can do. I think his best ball is ahead of him, because he changed positions every year and never got to settle in and learn the nuances of one position."

What I didn't know (or had forgot) in the article, was that Jamie had committed to Auburn. I knew Auburn had offered him, but didn't realize he had committed. He changed his mind when there was a coaching change there. If it hadn't been for the coaching change, we never would have had Jamie at Southern Miss.
