Southern Miss and Marshall had one of the more intriguing games I’ve ever seen Saturday afternoon as both entered the eighth inning with no-hitters intact. However, Marshall hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth to break the USM no-hitter, while the Golden Eagles returned the favor in the bottom of the frame with a solo homer of their own. USM eventually won the game, 2-1, in 13 innings. Kudos to Marshall’s Bryce Blevins and USM’s Billy Oldham for their starts. Blevins struck out four, walked two and allowed a run and two hits in nine innings, while Oldham struck out eight, walked one and allowed a run on two hits in eight innings
