Jason Munz linked a story out of ODU explaining how CUSA will help to fund COA to members for the first three years for 450K per year per conf member. That's a great help, but we have to find a way to raise these funds from our donors. Looks like ODU will give around 3K to their athletes. I have heard we will give around 2K. Hearing La Tech will give almost 5K. It's gonna be a real mess with kids going to schools that offer them the most cash.
Facilities. we are falling behind our conf mates as well as some Sun Belt schools. We have some great ideas on the books, but the cash to build them has been slow to come. ODU just announced a 8.4 million dollar basketball prac. facility to start in July. Also a 5 million dollar addition to their football training facility. All fully funded by donors. La Tech is in the middle of a multi million dollar field house weight room build. Personally think until we revamp the structure of the Eagle club we will continue to have money issues. McGillis to this point leaves me very concerned about his ability as a fund raiser. Hope he proves me wrong.
