Clock management...

Yep. At the end of both halves. Mullens throws it away in first half when he should've taken the sack to keep the clock running. Doesn't throw it away at the end and takes the game ending sack.

Oh well. Good effort. At least we were competitive.

cant fault mullens on the last one. not his fault. he played a hell of a game.

Yes, you can. If the receiver wasn't open immediately with a running clock he should've thrown it away. We would've then had a shot (or two) at the endzone at the end. He can't hold it that long in that situation. Throw it away and huddle up.

The penalties are a sign of a need to clean up some fundamentals. If that is taken care of, we can and will win a lot of games....

a play or two? youre an idiot. he also didnt hold the ball too long that play. wasn't much he could do in that situation. had he thrown it away we MAY have had one play at best. guy came out of nowhere. we should have had timeouts...but we didn't, bc of piss poor game management.

The ball was snapped with 14 seconds to go. A quick throw away leaves 10 seconds. Plenty of time for two plays.

Mullens played a very good game but those plays were huge mistakes for him. Nobody is perfect. Just sayin'.

One could also call out Martin for the stupid motion penalty on his touchdown catch .

you cant snap the ball....make your reads....and throw the ball away and have the timekeeper only run off only 4 seconds. when you spike the ball, sometimes two seconds run off.

I beg to differ. With seconds left and the clock running, the intent should be to throw as quickly as possible. If your first read is covered you throw it away, especially with a collapsing pocket. With a stopped clock you then have time to set up a much better play. The one thing you can't do without a timeout is hold the ball because a sack ends the game.

But Mullens performed very well most of the game. Hell, he threw for 447 yards and two TDs with zero INTs.
