Please fire monken and hire bill Clark now or our old coach at alcorn st. We are getting worse not better and i think the fans showed there frustration yesterday for not coming to the game.

UAB will owe him something, I am sure. He was a DC at USA and Jacksonville St where was a HC for one year. Monken won't be fired but I bet you anything Monken has already called him to come here as DC and Assistant HC. His players seem to love him and if Monken could get him here it could pay off for us with new players. He should get better offers than DC here, but he might not. He has coached mostly high school over the course of his career. I did notice that he played a good many juniors this year. If I were a junior in college and I was being forced to transfer I would look for a program where I could step in and play my last year. I doubt we have a single position that won't be wide open in Spring ball. Rakeem will definitely start next year, but who else????? 10 starters back on offense and 6 back on defense, but only one a stand out. I hope UAB players consider us and some of their coaches too.

The big running back is a sophomore, the other one was senior. That big kid would start and improve our offense on day one.
We don't have a D-1 every down back on our roster.
But where UAB player could really help us is on defense. if you look at our 5 starters we graduate on defense, linebacker, end, tackle, and both safeties and you look at UAB's roster they start juniors at all 5 position. Since Monken fired our D-line coach today, he should at least try to hire a UAB defensive coach to help recruit these positions.

Maybe a bit of karma for Bill. He was a Jacksonville State alum, JSU gave him a shot at their head coaching job, he did it one year and bolted for UAB. Without him Jacksonville State went undefeated in FCS play and got a first round bye in the FCS playoffs. Had Clark stayed around for one more year he would have been part of that and got a, IMO, much better offer from a I-A school. I might be biased since I'm an alum of both USM and Jacksonville State. Putting my bias aside I did think he was a good coach, a good guy, and a guy that the fanbase would like.
