My wife just showed me three different local students who attend USM that posted photos of themselves at State's game with hashtags such as hailstate on facebook this weekend. It made my stomach turn. One of the three is involved with student government at USM. Wearing maroon. With cowbells. Instead of being at our game.
That's a problem.
Does our attendance problem start with children? Youth? College students? Alumni?
Many are angry with our coach for speaking the truth with his frustration. But we need to fix the problem or it will remain for the next coaches down the road. But how? Don't just say "win." Look up our attendance numbers from the 80's and 90's if you think winning automatically fills the Rock.
