out at Auburn. Ray Charles saw that one coming. Also several sources are saying that UAB will indeed shut down it's football program as of this week. I guess our coaches got a good look at their prospects/suspects. We could use that running back but he is a senior. I would take a couple of their coaches. We picked up a pretty good defensive lineman back when SMU got the death penalty, I forget his name, but I think he was the only player we picked up. I think, when a program closes, their players can go to whomever will take them.

Does anyone know if we get transfers from a defunct program, transferring in January, will they count against out 25 we will sign in February? Since we are below the 85, way below, UAB's problem could become our solution but I do not know how that works.

Mercy, things are bad when we are trying to get UABs players; but then again, they did just blow us out.

Interesting quote near the bottom of the article:

"Auburn could be on the hook for $1.7 million over the last two years of Johnson's contract. He earned $850,000 per year and received a $50,000 raise in January. The contract runs through June 2017, meaning Auburn must pay the unemployed coordinator nearly $2.2 million."

Seriously, how many millions will Ellis Johnson have been paid from the time he was fired at Southern Miss to include his firing at Auburn.....for doing absolutely nothing?

wow 1.7 million the next two years Auburn must pay. Ellis should be okay. At least now we don't have to hear what a defensive genius he is on SEC network. wonder if this is the last stop or if he can get another gig. And if he does will he still get paid by Auburn I doubt it .

2.4 million from us, 3 years at 800k he was paid, then 1.7 million more from Auburn. Gosh-a-mighty, 4.1 million to do zilch.
He should go down to Boca Vista retirement community in Florida with the Seinfeld's and Costanza's and the other old coots
and count his millions.

He got one thing figured out and that is how to make millions doing absolutely nothing. I've got a kid at Auburn so I was glad to see him gone as I had a tough time pulling for them with him on the staff.
