While my wife and I both have very stable jobs on the coast and do not have major complaints in life, it just feels like the best time in life to live near a large city. Atlanta feels like the best fit out of the ones we've visited in the midwest/south (Cincy was a close 2nd). I've lived in MS for almost a decade, and while I'll always love USM, I feel like it's time to meander on. The one thing I'll miss the most though is my grad school program, as I just dipped my toes into a major (only taking 1 class) this semester and found out that I like it a lot.
I'm still in the infant stages, which is contacting recruiters and putting in applications, checking out forums on places to live, factoring costs....but I'm sure ya'll must have some sage advice.
Any cities/suburbs that are highly recommended?
Any direct advice for living in ATL? I know every city has it's ups and downs, but I always like to hear stories on how to navigate a city and live comfortably.
Any alumni I need to get in touch with?
Southern Miss hotspots/organizations? ( I believe someone had a USM social club in ATL????)
Of course, I'll still find my way towards the USM football games...
Thank you
