The best team won so we must give them credit. They have played well all year and could beat any team on our schedule. Having said this, they were not "all that", and we made too many mistakes.
Nick will own every record in the books way before he is finished here, but he is only maybe the fourth best QB at USM I have seen. I like him alot, but I rank him behind, Reggie, Brett, and Austin. But those 3 are really, really, good. He threw it horribly today. He was wild all day but.....
The line played as poorly as they have all year, especially at guard. I am disappointed and surprised, at least 3 of the sacks were on bull rushes without them blitzing. Some of our linemen just got whipped most all day.
The personal foul against Thompson was inexplicable. Monken needs to address this with him very directly.
Our injury riddled defense played about as well as they could I thought. The biggest problem with our defense was our offense. But the 19 play drive was killer, and changed the complexion of the game.
Mike Thomas is not only good, he is tough.
Next years team will be much better, and if these JUCO receivers pan out we could finish 11-1. The table is set for a big year anyway, and a special year if we find another player or two.
I hate to lose, but reflecting on the entire season, I am thrilled to be 9-4 and headed to any bowl. And unlike many fans, after the past 3 seasons, the New Orleans Bowl is no shame at all. Having said that, I am hoping for Dallas versus Washington.

I wouldn't call it a butt whipping....we just ran out of gas. Played well for most of the game. The drive at the end of the 1st half was ... a killer.

If payouts are the same, we will have more people in New Orleans....the day after Christmas in Dallas would be possible, but might interfere with family holiday plans....

Statistically, we beat Marshall soundly but lost on ten turnovers, if you count the 5 times we went for it on fourth down and were stopped each time. Nevertheless those statistics betrayed the final score. Today, we got whipped on the scoreboard and got whipped on the stat sheet. But I do agree that the reason we got whipped was they had more in the tank physically, due mostly to the fact we were playing hurt and really devastatingly so on defense.

My daughter does to the University of Washington and so I am hoping for Dallas v. UW. But, I am so proud of the team this year I couldn't possibly be disappointed with wherever we go, whomever we play.
