As a resident of Texas for the past decade, I am referring to the team in Austin and not Knoxville. The best bowl tie IMO is the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl. If UT can win 5 more games(it will be difficult but possible), I can see them wanting a game in the "Cotton Bowl". If we win more games and have the choice of bowls, take this one. Don't get me wrong I would take ANY bowl at this point but I see this as a possibility.

That would be great. I don't see Iowa State or Kansas being bowl eligible this year, and all the other teams in the Big 12 would make for an entertaining bowl game. I would think the C-USA champion would likely go to the game, and I believe it's well within the realm of possibility that it could be Southern Miss. It's still a long ways off, but if that begins to materialize we need to communicate to the AD and Coach Monken that we want Southern Miss football to play the best post-season opponent. None of this sending the team to Hawaii as a special treat for a job well-done...or sending them to New Orleans to play a Sun Belt opponent because it's close. If we are the champs we need to be playing Texas...or West Virginia...or Kansas State...or Texas Tech....etc.

I just want to emphasize that I'm not putting the cart before the horse, but whoever from CUSA goes to Dallas should get a great Big XII opponent....

You guys are getting way ahead of yourself. A close loss(That's LOSS) to Nebraska does not equate to having a bowl season.
