It was 20 years ago today. The previous season was a dissappointment. Tulane went undefeated the previous season and screwed out of a BCS bowl.Lee Robets got head slammed the Superdome floor and the offense could do nothing. The appearance on ABC for the "Rock Solid" Eagles melted vs PennState. A&M crammed the Rock only for a monsoon and loss for Eagles. The Eagles went to Idaho with the worst unis in history to only lose. Needless to say the team had much to prove that year and did.
USM actually went to Idaho I’m Humanitarian Bowl In 1998! 1999 season USM was CUSA Champs and beat Colorado State in Liberty Bowl to finish 9-3 with #17 Final AP ranking.
Yeah you're right. The 1998 season was a let down, so the 1999 season focused on one game, 9-6-99.
