With the Art Briles debacle over with here are five names I believe we will see surface for consideration.

1. John Wozniak: Running Backs Coach Oklahoma State.

Pros: Coach Wozniak was the coach, that was promoted to offensive coordinator at Southern Miss prior to Todd Monken leaving for Tampa Bay! He called plays for Southern Miss in the 2016 bowl game against Washignton! Given the fact that the other two coordinators that served for Coach Monken are doing great now in their careers. Coach Monken knew how to pick coaches. Also worth mentioning that Coach Wozniak is one of the few coaches Jay Hopson retained on his staff.

Cons: Has only been an offensive coordinator for 1 game in his career! Hes being paid $275,000 dollars a year.

2. Chris Hatcher Head Coach Samford.

Pros: Chris Hatcher is an Air Raid Guru who's won football games at every place he's coached. He his from the coaching tree of Hal Mumme and Mike Leach. His offenses have been electric in the FCS level. In 2017 his Samford Bulldogs put up 41 points on Mississippi State and in 2018 Samford just missed out on upsetting Florida State 26-36! His offense finished 4th in the FCS this year. Coach Hatcher has expressed an interest at coaching in the FBS level.

Cons: He's never been an offensive coordinator at the FBS level. His base salary is $274,000.

3. Jimmy Ogle: Offensive Coordinator Jacksonville State.

Pros: His offense is very balanced. They have ranked in the top 20 every year hes been Offensive Coordinator at JSU. The team themselves have compiled a 43-8 record prior to this season with Ogle as the playcaller. The JSU offense finished 5th in the FCS this year. Very affordable

Cons: A JSU lifer never been an offensive coordinator at the FBS level.

4. Joshua Eargle Senior Offensive Analyst Kansas.

The last three seasons he was the offensive coordinator at Austin Peay. Coach Eargle helped coach the best turn around in college football .. Taken an Austin Peay team that had went 1-45 prior to his arrival to and 8-3 record and the FCS playoffs in year 2. He his the former head coach at East Baptist Texas State and while there hired current Southern Mississippi receivers coach Scotty Walden as his offensive coordinator. He is a former GA at Southern Miss. He has expressed interest in coming back to Southern Miss.

Cons: He's never been an offensive coordinator at the FBS level.

5. Doug Meacham Former TCU and Kansas offensive coordinator.

Pros: From 2014-2016 Meacham's offense at TCU lit up opponents in the Big 12, prior to that he had a successful year as offensive coordinator at Houston and before that worked with Todd Monken and Mike Gundy at Oklahoma State. Meacham and TCU HC Gary Patterson butted heads during the 2016 season and that led to his resignation at TCU to accept the offensive coordinator job at Kansas in 2017. He was fired in 2018 at Kansas for another dispute with the Head coach.

Cons: He's been fired by the last two head coaches he worked for despite his success. Yesterday he informed me that he has reached out to Coach Hopson about our OC vacancy and has not yet received a reply.

No Chance Guys!

Larry Fedora: is collecting alot of money from his UNC buyout and if my memory serves me correctly he and Bower aren't friends. That would led me to believe Coach Hopson would not bring him in as OC.

Derrick Nix: is making just over 400,000 dollars a year at Ole Miss coaching running backs. That's almost Coach Hopsons Salary as Head Coach!
