Southern Miss only hit 1 three-point shot out of 9 attempts. If Southern Miss could hit their 3 pointers they could be ahead in this game at halftime.

The down side to this game is that Alabama is a middle of the pack to lower tier SEC team. Not sure they could win CUSA. When the announcement of our playing in this tournament was made I said Bama and USM would be playing to see who could win a game in this tournament. Was happy we would be a part.
I will say the guys played hard. I feel like the competition against Iowa State earlier, Gonzaga, Seton Hall, and Texas Tech to come will help us improve this year.

I was glad that USM was part of a top notch tournament. How many years have gone by playing tournaments against teams no one has heard.
