I was thinking about last year's game and why Southern Miss was able to march out of Yulman Stadium with a win and the bell. Here are the 3 keys I noticed in last season's game that must happen today.....
1. Win the turnover battle: Yeah, this one is low hanging fruit, but without the pick-6 last year it would habe been iffy if the Eagles win that game. Billy has to be careful at QB with the ball and not force things.
2. Win special teams: Block punts, field goals, returns are momentum changers. We saw it last season. Tulane is usually good on special teams but were beat in that area by USM last season.
3. Keep fighting: USM went down early but fought their way back last year. Being down early in this game means nothing. We have seen both teams jump out to early leads against each other and lose.
Do these and the Golden Eagles have a great shot a winning this game. Tulane is good, but last year's Green Wave team was much better.
