it’s gonna be an ugly season....

They didn't even give the coach a year to coach and they fired him. They knew he was a bad hire and saw no reason to continue. We need to do the same and cut bait and get on with it. And please no more Jeff Bower disciple's, that is a sure death path for our program. We need an up and coming young coach that wants to win and recruit. Not someone like JH and EJ that wants to make USM their last coaching destination.

Painful gentlemen. In this lovely 2020 my family was talking after the game that USM football was the one thing that could take our minds off of all the political/social bull crap and what do we do? We are terrible just like the media and world has deemed this year. I know it’s just football but good grief.

I have xfinity but when I called it was too much to spend. I am trying to keep that bill low. I don't mind getting something like fubo or whatever. I'm just not good at checking for the best deals.

... our once proud footall program is in a state of ruins. The establishment of the BCS started the process and being passed over in conference re-allingment sealed it. Poor leadership at the top of our University didn't help. Anyone who saw the Tulane game last year and this game knows we don't have the athletes to compete at the lowest levels of Division 1 football. Maybe we should consider going down a level.

Listening to Hopson after the game tonight revealed some things to me. He said over and over that "he hoped" the team could get their minds on football and return ready to work next week.

What are their minds on? The team obviously was not ready to play tonight. Whatever the distraction was, the responsibility for this falls squarely in Hopson's lap. Post game interviews revealed the same thing from players, that the player's minds were not on the game. Hopson's attitude was not what I consider to be the attitude that we expect from our head couch..."oh well, it is what it is"..."I hope" they can come back and get their minds on playing football???????"

I think of coaches like Bear Bryant or for that matter Bower or Monken that it is part of your life that you focus on football.

Hopson has lost control.

I didnt want to go to games, but no way was I gonna let him stop my streak. But after tonight I dont know. I m wishing I could get sick for several weeks and not be able to attend a game .

Well it is time for some football again. It is so good to watch some Golden Eagle football. Here's to a Golden Eagle victory.

I would feel better if the AD forfeit the rest of the season and fired the entire coaching staff in the morning.

I am done guys. Yep, after 1 game. Been a season ticket holder the last 10 years or so. Have traveled to away games and bowl games. I did not buy season tickets nor did I contribute to the eagle club. I still may do that but I am not going to any games. I am tired of this. I maybe back when/if Hopson is let go. Hope you guys enjoy the season.

I know we had several good players enter the transfer portal.

I know we had some assistant coaches leave.

I know some of the offensive coaches were coaching D last year.

I know some D coaches were coaching offense last year.

I know we have a ton of new players playing.

I know the team and coaches spent almost as much time walking around campus protesting social injustice as they have practicing.

We hired a moderately successful FCS coach who came in and began recruiting players that only had offers from FCS schools or Juco's.

We have the 2nd to lowest athletic budget in FBS ahead of only ULA-Monroe.

This is the new norm for us sadly.
