Statement from Southern Miss Director of Athletics Bill McGillis regarding the Men's Basketball Program

"The university is working together with the NCAA
to review potential issues related to our men's basketball program. In
order to maintain the integrity of our joint process, and pursuant to
NCAA policy, we cannot comment further regarding
any details of our review at this time."

It stinks to high heaven for us, and it begs 2 questions for me: What will the NCAA do to Donnie Tyndall, and then what will they do to North Carolina? It's an integrity question for the NCAA, and integrity and NCAA are rarely used in the same sentence.

To Tyndall? Publicly issue a kind warning.
To UNC? Publicly issue a kind warning
To USM? Post season ban for 3 years. Loss of three scholarships for 3 years. Forfeiture of all wins last two seasons.

The NCAA has to send the right message, which is "G5 conference members will be held 100% accountable for any and all infractions". What else can it do? The very integrity of the NCAA is at stake.
