Five Story Lines for Spring Football

Yes, it's that time of year again Spring Football is upon us and this is set to be one of the most intriguing spring camps in years for Southern Miss.

With a dozen mid-year enrollees, Southern Miss the vast majority of players expected to contribute already on campus and ready to take part in spring drills.

The Golden Eagles will go through their 15 practices over a five-week period and will typically hold its workouts on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday during the week, except for two scheduled Saturdays, which includes March 28 and as well as the spring game on April 18.

No time has been set for the Spring Game, but it's rumored to be under the lights this year.

Southern Miss returns 59 letterwinners from last year's squad including 30 on offense, 25 on defense and four specialists, while losing 31 (eight on offense, 12 on defense and one specialist).

Ten starters return on offense for the program for the upcoming fall campaign, while the defense will welcome five back on its side of the ball.

This will be the most depth that Todd Monken has had since he arrived at Southern Miss and the deepest spring in number of total scholarship players in recent memory.

With so many players on campus and taking part in camp there are some intriguing story lines that Southern Miss fans will want to keep an eye on. Today we'll take a look at five.
