I think this is a bad thing for Southern Miss. Back in the 80s when I was a student at Southern Miss I remember it had a very large enrollment. Even though I had plans for a career in another service I did take the first two years just for fun and to learn whatever I could about the military in general and leadership. Does anyone with more recent involvement with the program know more about what happened?

Yet another casualty of the Obama regime. Wish we didn't have to wait 3 more years for Republicans to come in and clean up this mess. When will Americans ever learn?

Republicans may get their chance, after 8 years of Hillary. I believe that the polarizing effects of the Tea Party, Constitutional Conservatives or ever how it should be phrased, will not allow the Republican Party to field a viable national candidate. I know 3 years is a long time, but Ted Cruz hurts election chances, a moderate Republican would be shouted down before he could appeal to a national audience. I know we will lock horns over it, can't wait! Who do you see with electable appeal? Jeb Bush was a good governor here in Florida, his name may keep him locked out. Cruz? Rubio? Rand? Love to hear your thoughts.....

The Republicans did real well the last two elections with a moderate didn't they? Maybe they should put up another one of those so Hillary can win it.

lol. Hilarious. Hillary is NOT electable after Benghazi. A couple of months of pounding the airwaves with her "what difference does it make" statement will ensure a Republican victory. I doubt she even wins the primary...if she makes the mistake of deciding to run.

As for the Republican, who knows? We're not even close to determining who that will be yet. Obama was an unknown community organizer 3 years before the 2008 election. I'll see who steps up for the Republican primary before I decide. All I know is that after 8 years of watching Obama, Pelosi, and Reid decimate America, everyone will be ready for a change. It should be an easy time for Republicans to win, especially if the idiotic liberals run a politically damaged Hillary.

Your argument is that someone more conservative than McCain or Romney could have beaten the President? I am skeptical....

John McCain was a conservative? I'm trying to figure out exactly what he is conservative on.

Was against drilling, for amnesty of illegal immigrants, for shutting down coal plants.

If your thinking its because he's against the healthcare law. So is every republican and over a dozen dem. congressman and two dem. Senators.

I couldn't vote for John McCain because I didn't want another democrat in office.

So please. Tell me. What position was John McCain conservative on?

And don't say lowering the corporate tax rate to 25% because Obama also said he'd do that as an election promise. And I know neither McCain or Obama would/are ever going to do that.

McCain pretended to be a conservative in his last election and then after he won he promptly went back to his liberal ways and began attacking conservative positions and complimenting the opposition. He is big government progressive. With friends like him the Republicans don't need enemies. As for Romney, he won the independents (which the political analysts always say you must have to win), but several million registered Republicans stayed home and did not vote.

The media and the advisers tell the Republican moderate candidates what to do and they do it. It fails. Meanwhile the Dems do the opposite because they are smarter. What is it that I am talking about? The advisers (and the pres too) say don't attack the opposing candidate, play nice, go to the center, go for the independents, forget your base and play to the middle. Meanwhile in the last election Obama did the opposite and guess who won? He attacked and played dirty, he went way to the left and played to his base to get them excited so they would turn out in mass. It worked. Next election the Republicans will do the same thing as before and probably have the same results because they will be listening to the same people like the media and a bunch of libs telling them how to win the next election. Like they really want them to..

The Tea Party candidates romped in the 2010 elections. People are tired of big government, spending our way into bankruptcy, and pushing the European socialist agenda. I think a true fiscal conservative would win in a landslide. We need someone that is a real fiscal conservative that can avoid the left-wing attempts to turn the race into war on social issues. Social issues are the only thing keeping liberals in office. Take that away from them, and you'll beat them easily.
